This week Shawn turned eight years old...and what a week he has had. First he had a great "Sports Party" with his friends from school and church, then a family party, then some friends from the neighborhood. Thank goodness for Costco cakes being so big.
Then it was pinewood derby day. Of course he took first place, even to his dad's surprise since we really did not even do the entire "weight and sanding" thing like some others.
Then today on Palm Sunday was his baptism. He was really nervous, but it was a great experience. He was really excited and we had a great turn out of friends from church and also friends from the neighborhood.
Shawn's latest Lego creation is still being built, even though he says it is sea worthy. He and Tanner are building Lego Battleships to have their own war. Shawn's has about 60 "guns" and it actually has about three little Lego missiles that fire. He wanted to get a picture of one being shot, so this is about as close as we could get after about 20 tries (you can see the missile just barely coming out if you look close at it). Notice the smile of obvious naval domination.
Tanner also built his ship...if size matters in their little naval battle, that is why Shawn gets the blog post, cause I don't think we will be seeing Tanner's ship again. Notice Tanner's smile of childhood hope.
Shawn has loved wearing a sport jacket to church for a while and now all his brothers are following his example. So the other day when they all were dressed up, I had to take this great picture. Ok, none of them are really looking straight at the camera (Shawn's the nearest to that and he had to do that on a slant even), but I needed to show off this great boys. When Shawn is ready to go on his mission in 12 years, we will have to take this same shot again (hopefully they will all look at the camera that time).
